Growing out of this belief, the Philosophy program has two general aims. The first is to provide students who may enter a variety of majors at the upper division level with a liberal arts foundation centered in disciplined thought and moral awareness. Such a foundation is important for many professions today, including law, and other graduate programs. The second is to provide students whose eventual goal is teaching and/or research in philosophy, religion or ethics with a strong two-year foundation for entering a philosophy major at a transfer college. Students planning to transfer after graduation should consult the catalog of the college where they intend to complete their studies."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://catalog.rcbc.edu/programs/fXk3fWsgdXXCtW8cK24a","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=24.0101","ceterms:codedNotation":"24.0101","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that is a structured combination of the arts, biological and physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities, emphasizing breadth of study.
