The 'Interior' courses will be existing courses at BSU or collaborating institutions that have met selection criteria relating to their focus on equity. Students will be asked to reflect on the equity learning and experience they receive in each of their classes, in a portfolio essay that is part of the EQ 4500 course. Three of the major goals of the Equity Certificate are to incorporate experiential and service-learning in the program, to focus the student on planning, implementing, and communicating equity activities, and to prepare students to incorporate an equity focus in their future work in their careers, communities, and lives. These goals will focus students on the active and experiential nature of equity work, and get them started taking actions to improve equity for themselves and others.
