Phlebotomy technicians (PBT), study the collection of blood specimens using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques; it's a related career which offers quick entry into the workforce.  The mission of Elgin Community College's NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Technology program, is to provide quality education that supports the development of medical laboratory practitioners for the healthcare community. 15 students accepted each year (new classes start in August)\r\nApplication Requirements:  ECC Health Professions Application ($10 non-refundable fee), Official college transcript (must be evaluated), PSB-HOA test Scores ($20 non-refundable fee). Criminal background checks and drug testing are required for all health professions programs. Students applying to the health professions programs must provide a valid social security number in order to complete the criminal background check required by clinical agencies and to take licensing/certification exams.\r\nAdmission Criteria:  Specific grade requirements for BIO110, CHM101 and MTH098.
