The technician is also able to load software and suggest programs to answer the needs of individuals and companies. Microcomputer Technicians must be above average in knowledge of mechanical systems. They must also have interest and ability in mathematics to successfully apply the training presented in this program. The computer industry is expanding due to the continuing drop in the price of computers and the introduction of new models with greater power. The fastest growing segment of this field is the microcomputer segment. The power and speed of these units continue to increase and, at the same time, the price continues to decrease. This has placed the computer within financial reach of many small businesses and individuals. With more systems being manufactured and installed, more technicians are needed. Students can acquire the basic skills and knowledge to earn the Microcomputer Technician Associate in Science Degree / Certificate of Achievement, in the Electronics Department. This program will not only prepare students for an award, but will also prepare them for the A+ Certification exam, and help them prepare for the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA). By fulfilling the program requirements, students are able to format a computer, install the operating system, and install all the necessary drivers. Students will be able to successfully configure and create a network system consisting of a number of computers all for employment in a field related to microcomputer technician.\n\nPlease see the college Catalog for the most up-to-date description."},"ceterms:accreditedBy":["_:bb49d900-4fca-4bce-ba7f-11fa3262f3f0"],"ceterms:dateEffective":"1901-01-01","ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/49-2011.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"49-2011.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Computer, Automated Teller, and Office Machine Repairers"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Repair, maintain, or install computers, word processing systems, automated teller machines, and electronic office machines, such as duplicating and fax machines."}}],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.lattc.edu/academics/pathways","ceterms:estimatedDuration":[{"@type":"ceterms:DurationProfile","ceterms:exactDuration":"P20M"}],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://www.lattc.edu"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=55","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=11.0301","ceterms:codedNotation":"11.0301","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Data Processing and Data Processing Technology/Technician"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to master and use computer software programs and applications for inputting, verifying, organizing, storing, retrieving, transforming (changing, updating, and deleting), and extracting information.
