This program contains all the courses you will need to become a licensed teacher in Indiana. Candidates seeking licensure in states other than Indiana must first obtain their Indiana educator license and then seek licensure, in their state of choice, through possible reciprocity agreements. If a candidate should relocate to another state, transfer of the earned teaching license from IWU may be possible through a reciprocal agreement. It is the candidate's responsibility to contact the residency state's licensing agency for requirements.\n\nCoursework is completed online with field experiences and student teaching also required. The Transition to Teaching program can recommend candidates for licensure in the following areas:\n- Elementary Generalist K-6\n- Grades 5-12 - Life Science, Chemistry, Economics, Government and Citizenship, Psychology, Historical Perspectives, Language Arts, Mathematics, Business Education, Earth/Space Science, Physical Science, Physics, Geographical Perspectives and Spanish\n- Grades P-12 - Physical Education, Vocal and General Music, Instrumental and General Music, Health Education, and Visual Arts. (Those seeking P-12 licensure in these areas should enroll as a TTT secondary teaching candidate).\nNOTE: All TTT-Elementary candidates will be required to provide passing scores for Indiana's required licensing content test(s) by the end of the fifth course in the program or will be administratively withdrawn from the program. All TTT-Secondary candidates will be required to provide passing scores for Indiana's required licensing content test(s) by the end of the fourth course in the program or will be administratively withdrawn from the program.\n\nIf you should ever relocate to another state, you may have the potential to transfer your license through a reciprocal agreement (around 40 other states currently have such agreements).  If you plan to use this license in a state other than Indiana, please contact your state's licensing agency for requirements."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/transition-to-teaching","ceterms:availableOnlineAt":["https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/transition-to-teaching"],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/transition-to-teaching"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"CredentialStatus"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"}}}
