Qualified students applying to most programs are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis during enrollment periods. A standard high school diploma or GED™ is not a prerequisite for most programs; however, it is highly recommended. Students who do not demonstrate attainment of literacy grade levels at the 6th grade level or higher in Reading, Math, and Language on a commonly accepted literacy assessment will be referred to an Adult Education program for developmental education, prior to enrollment at FMTC. Lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation. The District may assess each student\u0026#8217;s ability to benefit from specific programs through placement tests and counseling, and, if necessary, will provide services or referrals to better prepare students for successful participation. ADMISSIONS STEPS: 1. Submit application. You may apply in person on campus at 3800 Michigan Avenue, Fort Myers. 2. Determine Florida residency for tuition purposes. In order to qualify for in-state tuition, prospective students must bring in two types of documentation proving they have legally resided in Florida at least 12 months prior to the first day of their first term of enrollment. If a student is under the age of 24 and independent, he/she must show proof of independent status. If he/she is under the age of 24 and is still dependent on a parent/guardian, the parent/guardian must provide proof of residency. 3. Submit transcripts. Request official high school or GED™ transcripts to be sent to FMTC Admissions, 3800 Michigan Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33916. Transcripts may also be delivered in person if they are in a sealed envelope. It is not necessary to provide your diploma. The diploma will not be accepted as documentation of high school or GED™ graduation. Note: If you do not have a high school diploma or GED™, you may still be eligible to enroll in some programs at FMTC. Please talk with an admissions specialist."]},"ceterms:creditValue":[{"@type":"ceterms:ValueProfile","schema:value":1140.0,"ceterms:creditUnitType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CreditUnit","ceterms:targetNode":"creditUnit:ClockHour","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credit Unit"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Clock Hour"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Credit that is issued or accepted as being related to one or more temporal hours."}}]}],"ceterms:description":{"en-US":"Program Requirements"}}],"ceterms:offeredBy":["https://credentialengineregistry.org/resources/ce-5944d391-98b7-49b6-bf0b-47dbe31cc0e2"],"ceterms:identifier":[{"@type":"ceterms:IdentifierValue","ceterms:identifierTypeName":{"en-US":"FLVC Public Status"},"ceterms:identifierValueCode":"Public"}],"ceterms:inLanguage":["en-US"],"ceterms:availableAt":[{"@type":"ceterms:Place","ceterms:latitude":26.6475701,"ceterms:longitude":-81.8358656,"ceterms:postalCode":"33916","ceterms:addressRegion":{"en-US":"FL"},"ceterms:streetAddress":{"en-US":"3800 Michigan Avenue"},"ceterms:addressLocality":{"en-US":"Fort Myers"}}],"ceterms:description":{"en-US":"A biomedical equipment repair technician is someone who specializes in calibrating, maintaining, and repairing the medical machinery used in a healthcare facility.
