For students who already speak Korean with their families, the certificate will provide the opportunity to extend their linguistic repertoire and validate their knowledge, particularly as applied to their careers. In addition to satisfying a transfer language requirement, the Certificate of Achievement in Korean Language and Culture offers benefits for those engaging in future study or work in civil service or the private sector. The certificate is designed to provide intensive language experience by equipping students with practical language skills to function in an increasingly internationalized and competitive marketplace. It provides opportunities to develop Korean language skills in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as understanding Korean culture, history, society and politics. The Korean Language and Culture certificate serves students who would like to or need to have their language competency recognized as an add-on to their career skills. Many of our students are interested in teaching English in Korea through the EPIC, TALK programs or in Korean private companies. The certificate also enhances students' job opportunities with Korean-related companies."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://deanza.elumenapp.com/catalog/2024-2025/program/korean-language-and-culture-fall-2024","ceterms:versionIdentifier":[{"@type":"ceterms:IdentifierValue","ceterms:identifierTypeName":{"en-US":"Version Identifier"},"ceterms:identifierValueCode":"Fall 2024"}],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:InPerson","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"In-Person Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only face-to-face."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=16.0303","ceterms:codedNotation":"16.0303","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Korean Language and Literature"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that focuses on the Korean language.
