It is designed for educators who wish to expand their knowledge of education, improve their educational practice, and positively impact public and private schools. The M.Ed. is also intended to provide a foundation in educational studies for individuals broadly interested in education in a variety of settings, including business, educational and research centers, and national and state agencies. The program provides a context in which participants can develop tools of inquiry to investigate questions about teaching, mentoring, learning and school reform, and to inspire others to work toward educational change. This program does not lead to a teaching or administrative credential.\n \n The 30 - 32 credit program is structured around a knowledge and application core (12 credits) that includes a course on contemporary issues in education, a course on the analysis of teaching, mentoring and learning, and a course on educational research methods. Program participants will also complete four electives (14 - 16 credits), designed to provide depth or breadth to their course of study. Finally, program participants will complete an inquiry project course in which they develop a literature review on an educational issue of their choice, conduct research, and present their findings in the context of the course (4 credits). The program includes flexible options for study, including a fully online option.\n \n Applying\n \n Please visit the Graduate School website (see: http://www.gradschool.unh.edu/) for detailed instructions about applying to the program."},"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-9031.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-9031.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Education Administrators, Preschool and Childcare Center/Program"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Plan, direct, or coordinate the academic and nonacademic activities of preschool and childcare centers or programs."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-9032.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-9032.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Education Administrators, Elementary and Secondary School"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Plan, direct, or coordinate the academic, administrative, or auxiliary activities of public or private elementary or secondary level schools."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-9033.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-9033.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Education Administrators, Postsecondary"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Plan, direct, or coordinate research, instructional, student administration and services, and other educational activities at postsecondary institutions, including universities, colleges, and junior and community colleges."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-9039.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-9039.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Education Administrators, All Other"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"All education administrators not listed separately."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-9039.01","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-9039.01","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Distance Learning Coordinators"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Coordinate day-to-day operations of distance learning programs and schedule courses."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-9039.02","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-9039.02","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Fitness and Wellness Coordinators"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Manage or coordinate fitness and wellness programs and services.
