The Electromechanical Technology A.A.S. degree allows students to focus on the technical knowledge and the professional skills sought by employers both locally and nationally. Students will learn fundamental electrical, mechanical, and programming skills that will provide them a strong foundation needed to be an electromechanical technician. The program offers students a well-rounded education by including professional written and oral communication, computing and information literacy, and other similar skills while completing SUNY General Education requirements.\n\nThe program is heavily focused on hands-on learning where students will become proficient in using common electrical diagnostic tools, mechanical assembly tools. and precision measurement equipment to troubleshoot a wide array of electromechanical systems. Basic shop math skills are taught and reinforced throughout the program to provide students with the ability to specify and implement electromechanical systems with confidence. Students will learn to utilize common industrial equipment including pneumatic systems, programmable logic controllers, and motor controllers.  Advanced classes will allow students to implement and troubleshoot sophisticated electromechanical and robotic systems.\n\nGraduates of the Electromechanical Technology A.A.S. program are adequately trained for direct employment in a variety of high demand industries in mid-level positions. Transfer pathways to advanced degrees with some local and SUNY partners are possible with proper advising."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.sunyocc.edu/programs/electromechanical-technology-aas","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}}}
