All courses consist of both a lecture component and a lab component, and labs are set up as true to real life lab as possible. Students will work on microscopes, chemistry analyzers, do microbiology testing, etc. just like in a real lab. In addition, the clinical experience gives them a semester of learning in a real hospital lab.\n\nThe Medical Laboratory Technology program is a selective admission program. When you apply to the College, you will be accepted into Healthcare Support with a concentration in Medical Laboratory Technology while you complete the prerequisite requirements. The Medical Laboratory Technology program accepts a limited number of students each year and there is a separate application process."},"ceterms:accreditedBy":["_:180deb74-09a2-32d7-4e25-4edb8a1eb440"],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.ivytech.edu/programs/all-academic-programs/school-of-health-sciences/medical-laboratory-technology/","ceterms:commonConditions":["https://credentialengineregistry.org/resources/ce-b96bddc6-97eb-4824-a39d-d48468324b22"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:InPerson","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"In-Person Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only face-to-face."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=51.1004","ceterms:codedNotation":"51.1004","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals, under the supervision of clinical laboratory scientists/medical technologists, to perform routine medical laboratory procedures and tests and to apply preset strategies to record and analyze data.
