The primary goal of the Paramedic Certificate program is to prepare the individual to become a competent entry level paramedic. The program provides a mix of theory and practicum leading to immediate employment upon successful completion of certification exam(s). People who pursue certificates might possess an advanced degree and want to acquire new skills and knowledge. Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate is eligible for the New York State and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certifying examinations. Credits earned during the certificate program can be applied towards an Associate's Degree should the candidate choose to continue their paramedic education.\n\nThe Paramedic program is an intense program that prepares students to handle the rigors of providing prehospital medical care in an emergency setting and under extreme conditions. Paramedics are essential components of the health care continuum.
