These minimum standards classes are regulated by Florida Statutes and are disciplined programs with special rules and procedures. All Public Service programs have special criteria for entrance- age, education, scores on entry exams-plus an interview. The Chipola College Criminal Justice Center's overall goal is to attract, screen and select candidates for the Law Enforcement/ Correctional Officer/Firefighting Academy. Key elements of the applicant screening process consist of: drug testing, physical examination, military history and a full background investigation as well as a Chipola College student applications process.  The Law Enforcement program prepares students as entry level law enforcement officers, such as Police Officer and Deputy Sheriff. Practical skills and field exercise are an integral part of this program. To acquire a certificate, candidates must successfully complete all of the courses listed and pass a state examination. All courses have special lab fees."},"ceterms:alternateName":{"en-US":["Florida Law Enforcement Academy"]},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.chipola.edu/studentservices/academic-pathways/","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:InPerson","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"In-Person Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only face-to-face."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=43.0107","ceterms:codedNotation":"43.0107","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Criminal Justice/Police Science."},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to perform the duties of police and public security officers, including patrol and investigative activities, traffic control, crowd control and public relations, witness interviewing, evidence collection and management, basic crime prevention methods, weapon and equipment operation and maintenance, report preparation and other routine law enforcement responsibilities."}}]}
