Endoscopy technicians assist physicians and nurses with endoscopy\nprocedures and other minimally invasive procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining\nand cleaning medical instrumentation and equipment, including endoscopes and accessories. The\nENDO program is taught using a hybrid/blended learning environment.\n\nStudents enrolled in this program will learn how to assist in a variety of endoscopic procedures.\nThe training will also cover sterilization techniques, including the proper method for\ndecontaminating and sterilizing medical instrumentation and equipment. Students will gain a\nsolid understanding of microbiology and infection control. The training includes a combination\nof lecture and lab hours, as well as a 300-hour clinical internship.\n\nAIMS Education has a dedicated surgical lab that provides the perfect environment to train\nstudents and allow them to practice their psychomotor skills. The practical experience gained\nduring the clinical internship will help reinforce those skills. Graduates of this program will\ndemonstrate behaviors consistent with professional standards and will meet employer\nexpectations for an entry-level position.\n\nUpon satisfactory completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to take the Certified\nEndoscope Reprocessor (CER) exam offered by HSPA.\n\nAfter completing all program requirements, graduates will be awarded an Endoscopy Technician\nCertificate of Achievement.\n\nThis program will be delivered using hybrid learning. ENDO students who complete an additional 400 clinical hours in the sterile processing discipline will be eligible to take the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam offered by HSPA. Graduates who pass the exam will earn the CRCST credential.   Eligibility requirements for the CER and CRCST credentials are solely determined by HSPA, and are subject to change at any time. HSPA is an independent organization.
