Developed in collaboration with EPCE nuclear industry partners, the BSC's Nuclear Power Technology program is approved by the Nuclear Energy Institute.\r\nThe Nuclear Power Technology program at the Bismarck State College (BSC) National Energy Center for Excellence (NECE) prepares current and future nuclear power employees, including those currently employed in non-technical positions. Students gain fundamental skills and knowledge required for non-licensed operator, maintenance and chemistry along with a degree specialized for non-licensed operator and health physics positions in nuclear generation systems.\r\nThis program is also a great opportunity for present nuclear station employees in non-technical areas, and all employees who are seeking a degree and/or additional training. Prospective students currently employed in the nuclear industry may choose to enroll in an Instrumentation \u0026 Control track within the degree program. \r\n\r\nCoursework in the program includes access to a full-fidelity nuclear simulator developed specifically for BSC. This program was developed with funding from the National Science Foundation as a result of industry demand.\r\n\r\nSeveral scholarships are available for individuals new to the nuclear industry. Awards may cover the entire cost of the program.\r\n\r\nThis credential is a(n) AAS Nuclear Power Technology."},"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/17-3029.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"17-3029.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Engineering Technologists and Technicians, Except Drafters, All Other"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"All engineering technologists and technicians, except drafters, not listed separately."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/19-4051.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"19-4051.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Nuclear Technicians"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Assist nuclear physicists, nuclear engineers, or other scientists in laboratory, power generation, or electricity production activities.
